It's funny smells are something most people don't pay too much attention to unless they smell good or really, super awful.
Living in a haunted house sometimes the smells are all you have and are your signal that something is gonna happen. I didn't really notice the smells right away since it was a new house, neighborhood etc....
One night while my dad was back aboard ship and out to sea we were all sitting around watching tv and mom asked if any of us smelled something. We all sniffed and sure enough there was the smell like a broken sewer. The putrid smell of sewer filled the air for a split second then suddenly the lights flickered and the tv shut off a few minutes later the tv started smoking. Remember, all the wiring in the house was brand spanking new so it wasn't the electrical yet when the firemen showed up, they said it was an electrical problem, purely on the smell alone.
There have been smells from the really pretty old fashioned tea roses to the sewer smell. Cigar smoke, even tho no one in the house has ever smoked a cigar and no neighbor in the area smokes cigars. We smell baking dough, brownies, cooking meats, wet dog, hay, horses, wet canvas. And usually when these smells come up, nothing happens anymore but sometimes, with certian smells all hell breaks loose and there is the knocking, sometimes just 3 on the wall outside the front door. Like something asking to come in. You might see a shadow cross from one bedroom to the other on the hall. The dog might start barking and jumping after something in the corner. You might feel a slight brush on your leg or feel like something peed on your foot. If you are walking thru when the smell comes you might hear like something running behind you on the wood floor.
You might be asking about now why we've never had anyone come in and investigate......the sad truth is, we have. I'll go into those more later. One refused to step foot on the property after showing up, one, a local psychic told us some stuff that was close or right on and near sun down said she had to leave because she was starting to feel far too many coming around her and one group {a TAPs member} came in and we never heard another word from them. One investigator even ran out, vowing never to return and told us to leave...so I've had to go mostly with doing my own investigating. I've started buying new equiptment and wishing for a "voice box"....thinking, "Then I could really find out who and what they want".
